ANZ Bank, Christchurch >>
The ANZ Bank at 64 Fitzgerald Avenue was constructed in 1981, and is comprised of tilt up concrete panels and a concrete slab on grade foundation. Three years after the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence, the structure was nearly 100mm out of level and flooded during rain events.
KGA undertook a site specific geotechnical investigation to provide the most suitable foundation relevelling strategy. Though the shallow soils presented a low bearing capacity, KGA was able to design a relevelling regime using the Mainmark Ground Engineering (NZ) Ltd JOG integrated computer grouting system, providing 200mm of uplift to the structure.
